Empowerment Circles: A Membership Community for Healing, Growth, and Connection
Are you a caregiver, foster parent, or navigating the child welfare system? You don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re raising a child placed in your care or working through your own case plan, our virtual support memberships are here to help you understand the system, build your capacity, and protect your peace — every step of the way.
At Break the Chain, LLC, we believe in the power of connection, guidance, and real-world tools to help families heal and thrive. That’s why we created Empowerment Circles — two unique membership-based communities designed to support:
- Parents involved in the child welfare or dependency system, and
- Kinship caregivers and foster parents navigating complex care systems.
Our circles are not just support groups — they are structured, empowering networks designed to equip you with clarity, confidence, and community.
1. Parent Empowerment Circle
For parents navigating open dependency cases, reunification, or post-case court involvement.
If you’re a parent who’s been involved with a DCF investigation, working toward reunification or trying to maintain stability after your case closes, this circle is for you. The Parent Empowerment Circle offers practical, nonjudgmental guidance to help you understand your case goals, show progress in parenting plans, and build the kind of protective support network that makes reunification and long-term success possible.
Inside the Circle
This membership is a soft place to land — and a strong place to grow.
- Protective Capacity Coaching Worksheets: Build emotional, cognitive, and behavioral tools that align with the standards used in FFA and Progress Updates.
- Weekly Virtual Meetups: Facilitator-led discussions with coaching topics like parenting while supervised, showing accountability, coping with grief, managing co-parenting conflict, and more. Participants are welcome to request topics for discussion.
- Confidential Community Space: Ask questions, share wins, and get help without judgment.
- Templates & Tools: Downloadable trackers, progress journals, and more to help you stay on track.
- Community: Hear from those who are walking this path and from those who have made it through.
- Monthly Virtual Workshops: Attend virtual workshops led by a former Certified Child Welfare Professional to better understand the system of care and answer group questions on various topics.
2. Caregiver Empowerment Circle
For foster parents, kinship caregivers, non-relative caregivers, and guardians.
Caregivers step up in big ways, often with little preparation and less support than they deserve. Whether you’re raising a relative’s child, fostering through the system, or taking in children unexpectedly, the Caregiver Empowerment Circle gives you the tools, information, and emotional support you need to navigate the system while staying grounded.
Inside the Circle
This membership supports the whole caregiver, not just the system-facing role. Because when you’re empowered, kids thrive.
- System Navigation Education: Understand roles like case managers, GALs, therapists, and what your rights and responsibilities are with downloadable documents from various circuits and agencies all in one place.
- Trauma-Informed Parenting Support: Learn how to respond to challenging behaviors with empathy, structure, and consistency.
- Bridge Building Support: Learn strategies for healthy relationships with birth families, co-parenting when safe, and navigating case dynamics.
- Special Topics Workshops: Live or recorded workshops on trauma, child development, navigating court, educational advocacy, and more.
- Caregiver-to-Caregiver Network: Find other caregivers in your area, swap resources, and even connect for respite or babysitting support (where allowed).
- Live Virtual Meetups: Join weekly discussion groups where we process real-world challenges, system changes, and shared caregiving wins.
- Downloadable Tools: Emotion charts, behavior logs, placement journals, cheat sheets, and more to help you stay organized and prepared.
